Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) Practitioners’ Course

This session will cover all the theoretical and practical elements of the 2-day TRiM Practitioners course. Attendees can then go on to complete a workbook in their own time which will allow them to put the skills into practice and become competent TRiM practitioners. The day will cover basic anatomy and physiology of the brain including the pathophysiology which occurs when an individual is exposed to a traumatic incident, how acute stress resulting from type 1 and 2 trauma and moral injury manifests itself over time, and how to safely perform a TRiM assessment to establish the best course of action for the individual, from active monitoring (NICE, 2018) to support to access professional counseling services.
